Convaid takes the worry out of your child’s ride to school

You can purchase your favorite Convaid chair as a “transit” model, safety tested for use aboard a school bus or van. Convaid’s transit chairs are compliant with the latest WC/19 safety standards, designed to improve wheelchair safety aboard a moving vehicle. These stringent safety standards require that a transit wheelchair pass a dynamic crash test and perform well enough to survive 95% of real-world crashes. Convaid chairs are so tough, in many cases they exceed the safety limits required by the test. We believe you just can’t get a safer chair for the money.

And what could be more important than the safety of your child?

New Integrated Lap Belt
Feel more confident about your child’s safety even before he or she boards the bus with the new integrated lap belt. With this new belt, which you can attach yourself, safety is in your hands. Because it fits low over your child’s pelvis and attaches to the chair, closer to the child’s body, it is safer and more effective than bus-anchored lap belts. As required by WC/19, the transit wheelchair safety standard, all Convaid transit chairs will now be shipped with connectors for an integrated lap belt. If you chose to purchase the integrated lap belt, available through Convaid, it can be used in conjunction with the crash-tested wheelchair tiedown and occupant restraint systems used on school buses and vans.
